About Queen Charlotte Strait: This strait is the gateway from the sheltered waters of the Inside Passage of southern British Columbia to the central coast. From Johnstone Strait it includes the myriad islands and waterways of the Broughton Archipelago and neighbouring channels that form an incredibly intricate patchwork of possible routes, each with their own particular attractions, from the killer whales in their annual migration to Robson Bight to the grizzly bears in the estuaries of Knight Inlet.

About this mapsheet: The Inside Passage Chart Assistant series is composed of 11 mapsheets designed to enable transit of the British Columbia coast from Washington State to Smith Inlet by using a uniformly scaled and continuous set of mapsheets. Since most mariners use electronic navigation, these mapsheets can be used for logistics and planning where a broad visual overview is desirable. You can read more about the Inside Passage series here. All Chart Assistants are printed on heavy synthetic paper to withstand the toughest conditions. Please note: This mapsheet is single-sided and contains the map only, unlike the Deck Topper series and most other Wild Coast mapsheets that are dual sided and supported by interpretive text. This mapsheet is designed primarily for mariners seeking visual orientation only.

Combining with Deck Toppers: These mapsheets can be used in combination with the Deck Topper series to fill in the vast majority of the southern British Columbia coast. Use mapsheets #238-240 for greater detail (twice the resolution) of this area, and #308 for the adjoining Johnstone Strait connection to the south.

UTM Grid Lines: All 300-series mapsheets include UTM grid lines. Learn to understand and make the most of them.
