About the North Georgia Basin: This mapsheet represents the vast open waterway north of Texada Island before reaching the cover of Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands to the north. In the midst is Texada Island, with the northern end represented here, along with numerous associated waterways and archipelagos. It is cruising water, visited most often in transits north into the Inside Passage channels and passages to the north, where the civilized world of greater Vancouver can be left behind.
About this mapsheet: The Inside Passage Chart Assistant series is composed of 11 mapsheets designed to enable transit of the British Columbia coast from Washington State to Smith Inlet by using a uniformly scaled and continuous set of mapsheets. Since most mariners use electronic navigation, these mapsheets can be used for logistics and planning where a broad visual overview is necessary. You can read more about the Inside Passage series here. All Chart Assistants are printed on heavy synthetic paper to withstand the toughest conditions. Please note: This mapsheet is single-sided to provide a visual overview only.
Combining with Deck Toppers: These mapsheets can be used in combination with the Deck Topper series to fill in the vast majority of the southern British Columbia coast.
UTM Grid Lines: All 300-series mapsheets include UTM grid lines. Learn to understand and make the most of them.
