Explore Cowichan: Stoney Mountain
Until a short time ago, this was a municipal forest with a gated road and user-maintained trails only. It has very recently been turned into a regional park, and even more recently the access road has been paved, the gate removed and a parking lot created well uphill. It is the new North Cowichan shining star, with more breathtaking views from beginning to end, and although just 3.2 km, plan 2-3 hours to take in the scenery and linger. The views over Sansum Narrows towards Saltspring Island are mesmorizing. To find it, take the road to Genoa Bay and take the first left shortly after the Birds Eye Cove Marina.
