407 - North Coast Trail Topographic Trail Map
Updated for 2024.
About the North Coast Trail: The North Coast Trail is a 43.1km extension to the Cape Scott Trail that officially opened in May 2008. If traveling west, it begins at Shushartie Bay and ends at Nissen Bight, and involves traversing rugged terrain interspersed with beautiful sand beaches across the entire north coast of Vancouver Island. At Nissen Bight it connects with the older Cape Scott Trail to exit at San Josef Bay, making the entire hike 58.1 kilometres through some of the most spectacularly wild and rugged coast of British Columbia.
About this map: Newly updated (February 2020), this map includes the entire North Coast Trail from Shushartie Bay to Nissen Bight as well as the Cape Scott Trail from Nissen Bight to the trailhead at San Josef Bay including the Cape Scott route to the lighthouse and the side trail to Mount St. Patrick.
The mapsheet construction: The mapsheet is created by Wild Coast Publishing using some of the latest technology available to provide a high-quality printed image on waterproof/durable synthetic polymer stock. The stock is picked as the best for the purpose, and is significantly thicker than most papers at 10 mil weight.
